Inspired by the moon landing mission Brian Talbot and Ken Wilcox choose ‘Lunar’ as the name of their caravan manufacturing business 1969... Initially based at Earnshaw Bridge, Farington, near Preston, Lunar moved to a former mill site in Lostock Hall 1971... Brian and Ken renovated the Lostock Hall site using their own joinery and building skills to incorporate a storage area and manufacturing plant 1975... Lunar ventured into the static caravan home and motorhome markets to complement its touring caravan range 1978... Lunar withdrew its interests in static caravans and motorhomes to focus purely on creating lightweight touring caravans 1996... Lunar re-enters the motorhome market with the Roadstar and Newstar models, with production running at 250 units per year 2001... Lunar ceases to export to Holland due a buoyant UK market but continues to trade to Japan and New Zealand 2005... Lunar launches Telstar and Xstar to its stable of motorhomes using both Fiat and Renault base units 2005...
