Lunar is celebrating another record breaking sales performance at The Motorhome and Caravan Show, held at the Birmingham NEC (11 – 16 October).

The total number of orders taken were up 25% on the 2015 event, which was also a record show for sales for the Lancashire based manufacturer.

With a contemporary new stand design, Lunar showcased the entire collection of Lunar and Venus caravan models plus their newly launched premium brand, Alaria.

The largest percentage of sales were for Lunar’s Clubman and Delta range with the newly launched Clubman SR, featuring a mid washroom and rear island bed, retailing exceptionally well. The Clubman and Delta’s new styling, which includes a black gas locker door, integrated sunroof and a range of luxurious interior designs, proved to be very popular.  Also contributing to the show’s success was the Lexon and Quasar ranges and Venus collection, which all maintained their widespread appeal by securing sales on a par with previous target beating performances.

Contributing to this year’s success was the all-new Alaria collection, which had its first public outing at the Show and attracted a good level of sales.  Alaria responds to market demand for a new level of luxury in modern touring caravans and comes after Lunar has seen sales for its existing top end models increase year-on-year.

The company’s best selling twin axle models have inspired the layouts chosen for the new Alaria collection and each of the three four-berth tourers offers a premium specification packed with every possible comfort and luxury as standard, including bold new styling, an innovative domestic style ‘L’ shaped lounge and an E&P self-leveling system.

From a new motorhome stand position in Hall 10, making a debut at the show was a trio of Renault-based Lunar motorhomes, the new Telstar and two new Roadstars. These three models are part of a growing portfolio and a great complement to the already well established Mercedes Sprinter based Landstar panel van. The coachbuilt models were very well received and the team were delighted with the early sales that they produced.

Said Lunar’s UK Sales Director, Lee Roberts, “We went into the Show with a lot of optimism; we know our 2017 collections are strong and our dealer network had already reported taking a very positive level of enquiries and early season sales back at their branches. However, to have exceeded last year’s outstanding performance and to have taken this volume of new orders from both new and existing Lunar customers over the six days of the Show is truly exceptional.”

In addition to a strong product line up and brand position, the Lunar team also credit the new stand concept with helping attract visitors. Says Lunar Marketing Manager, Lea Lawrence; “The objective of the new stand design was to provide customers with a true VIP browsing and buying experience. The design itself took influence from both our new season marketing and product design and the end result proudly showcased our brand equity growth.

“Throughout the show we were bowled over by the amount of compliments the stand received, both by dealers and customers. The new design really did create the perfect backdrop to a buoyant purchasing atmosphere,” she added.
