Lunar Caravans Secures £3M Sales at the Spring Caravan and Camping Show
Tue 5th Mar 2013
Lunar Caravans has announced sales of over £3 million at the recent Spring Caravan & Camping Show, at Birmingham’s NEC. The lightweight luxury experts displayed its extensive caravan range to the Show’s 83,854* visitors over six days (19th – 24th February).
All ranges retailed admirably with Venus reporting its best show sales figures to date. The Delta range continued to perform strongly thanks, in part, to its new found star status with singer and Grammy Award winner Adele reportedly making a recent purchase.
The Show was also the platform for Lunar’s exciting launch back into the motorhome market. The brand new Lunar Vacanza Camper Car was unveiled for the first time on opening morning to expectant press and public, with the first few sales secured on opening day.
The new compact four-berth multi-purpose vehicle is based on a Nissan NV200 Combi, and is the first of its kind on the UK market. It combines the dual benefits of a roomy, four-person camper with an efficient, easy to manoeuvre, everyday family car – the ideal solution for those who want the best of both. It’s attractive offering of four belts and berths, 50+ mpg, low emissions (135g co2) and compact dimensions - it boasts the same footprint as a VW Beetle – helped turn heads and secure sales.
Brian Mellor, Chairman and CEO of Lunar, said “This was a great Show for us and followed on from very positive sales performances at Manchester and Glasgow marking a successful start to the year. “We were delighted with the response to the Vacanza Camper Car. As well as achieving sales we also have a considerable number of enquiries and test drive requests making us optimistic of further sales in this first quarter,” Brian added.
