Lunar FAQ'sWelcome to the FAQ Section. Here you will find the most commonly asked questions from customers with the appropriate answer. If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact us:Technical 1) What is the height of caravan excluding the aerial? Height to top edge of side is 8’0’’. Height including chimney cowl, rooflight, TV directional aerial (530) 8’5’’ 2) The recommended coupling height of 17’’, is this to the crown of the ball and is the measurement when caravan is hitched up to car? Measurement is to the centre line of the 50mm ball, this dimension is for when the caravan should be riding level 3) What is the recommended, maximum and ex-works listing noseweight on your caravans? Minimum of 50Kg, maximum 100Kg (100Kg is the maximum the hitch head is designed for). Each model varies depending on how people load their caravan that’s why we never publish the ex-works noseweight. As a general guide most caravans, when loaded, are likely to be around 75Kg-85Kg. 4) Is the caravan fully insulated? Yes to grade 2 (same as other manufacturers). Lunar caravans have 22mm walls, 40mm floor, and 29mm roof. The Chateau model has 26mm walls, 39mm floor, and 40mm roof. 5) How do I ensure that I am towing safely? If the caravan has some instability, make sure you check weight distribution (left to right, front to back, see handbook), nose weight, tow bar height, wheel balance, tyre pressures, wear of pressure pads (if AKS) and car suspension. 6) What torque do I apply to the wheel nuts? Please note that steel/alloy wheels have to use designated bolts, whereas alloy/steel wheels are ok with either bolt. Warranty 7) Is my warranty void if I drill the chassis, fit extra cupboards, or make alterations etc? You cannot drill the chassis. New line alterations or additions made in an area which could have caused or exacerbated a problem will mean that the warranty on the caravan, in the area affected, is voided. 8) Can I have my caravan serviced by another Lunar dealer other than my own? Paid for servicing – yes. If the servicer finds a need for warranty work at this point they will contact Lunar. The supplying dealer is responsible for normal warranty work. Extras 9) Can you fit a bike rack to the rear of a Lunar caravan? Unfortunately, not. a) There are no fittings to secure it to and b) we do not know if it would affect the balance of the caravan (stability) 10) What type of wheel clamp and hitch locks fit our models? We are not aware of any that are not suitable. |
