Lunar Show Sales Exceed Expectations

Tue 18th Oct 2011

Lunar Caravans are celebrating this week following a very successful result at the Motorhome and Caravan Show, NEC, Birmingham. This event was the first show to be organised and managed by NCC Events Ltd, the trade body set up by the National Caravan Council to deliver value for money retail shows on behalf of the industry. The show received record levels of attendance, with almost 100,000 visitors, all eager to see new products for the 2012 season.

With a strong portfolio of 26 models on display, Lunar achieved retail sales with a value over £6.7 million pounds. On show were four brand new models, including the double award winning Lexon 520, both the award shortlisted Delta FB and Quasar 494 and the Lexon 420. The Clubman / Delta collection was the best-selling range and accounted for nearly 50% of the sales. The star of the show was once again the single axle Clubman SB with fixed single beds, closely followed by the single axle Clubman SI, with transverse island bed.

Martin Henderson, Sales and Marketing Director for Lunar says, “This event really has exceeded our expectations. There was a great buzz of excitement throughout the whole show proving that the UK caravanning industry is still standing resilient through these difficult economic times.

The Lunar stand was extremely busy every day and it was fantastic to see queues of visitors eager to look at our new caravans. For the new season we have focused on developing our caravans’ luxury specification while also innovatively reducing their weight. Our current marketplace is fiercely competitive so it is great to see that customers still regard the Lunar brand as the experts in luxury, lightweight caravans.“

Lunar would also like to thank all of its retailers for the hard work and support offered at the show.  We are also looking forward to the next major show organised by NCC Events Ltd which will be the Motorhome, Caravan and Camping Show, taking place on 14 – 19 February 2012 at London ExCel.
